Drinking water is awesome for you. We all know there are many benefits of water. Water can help you look and feel better, flush out toxins, and keep you hydrated and performing optimally. Drinking enough water instead of sugary drinks can also help you because of what you are not consuming instead.
We know it is important to meet our daily water goal. Sometimes, for many reasons, it isn’t always easy to get all the water your body needs. Here are a few tips to make sure you are getting enough:
- Make sure it is available – This sounds obvious, but it is important to make sure you constantly have water nearby. This serves as a constant reminder to you that you need to drink water. It also makes it easier on you. The easier it is to get water, the more likely you are to drink more.
- Keep it how you like it – I enjoy cold water, so I always keep some in the fridge or have ice ready. I know people who like water at room temperature, though. You know how you like to drink it, so keep it ready for you at whatever temperature you like.
- Have a daily goal – This is important, because it may be the only way to challenge yourself and hold yourself accountable. Have a goal for each day and track it to make sure you are reaching your goal. There are many ways to track it. There are smartphone apps that make tracking easy or you could keep a simple tally on a piece of paper. Do whatever works best for you.
If you challenge yourself to always choose water – at restaurants, with meals, or when on the go – you will stop craving any other kind of hydration. Your mind and your body will thank you for it.
