UPDATE 1/25/2016: The only option to take the CSCS Exam is now to schedule an exam at a Pearson VUE facility. There are various locations throughout the United States, such as colleges and other local facilities.
Unfortunately, you can’t simply take the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist test online whenever you want. However, there are a couple convenient options for the exam, and you may even be able to take it in your city at a time of your choosing. The NSCA offers a couple different options for taking the CSCS certification exam. The two options are:
The NSCA probably doesn’t offer the CSCS test online in order to add legitimacy to the test. It isn’t meant to be an open book/open internet exam. Having the exam proctored, either at the facilities that offer paper and pencil options, or at the Pearson VUE facility, helps to prevent foul play.
When and where you take the test doesn’t impact the difficulty level of the exam. It is best to choose a time and location that is comfortable and convenient to you and gives you the best chance for success.
