If you are ready to take the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist examination, you now need to find out where the test centers are. The NSCA’s English language exams are now administered at Pearson VUE facilities. You can look for locations near you on their website.
This setup makes it much more convenient for most people because of the flexibility. For instance, you probably have a Pearson VUE facility within 20 miles or so without even realizing it. This makes it much less challenging to schedule because you can pick the day and location of your choosing.
Before you can choose a location and date, you must first register for the CSCS exam with the NSCA. Make sure you are ready to schedule your exam before registering though, as you only have 120 days to take the exam without an extra fee.
Once you’ve registered you should receive information within 3 days on how to schedule your test with Pearson VUE online. From there, it is a pretty easy process as they will guide you through the steps of booking and choosing a date, time and location. They will also fill you in on all the test day information that you need to know.
Update: The information below is from the previous versions of the test process. These changed as of April, 2015 and tests are now proctored by Pearson VUE. You can find more information about the test at this CSCS exam guide.
This depends on the type of test you want to do. If you want to take the paper/pencil version, the NSCA sets locations in advance. To find out what your options are, check the updated list from their website here.
If you prefer the computer-based version, your options may be more flexible, depending on where you live. If you live in the United States, you can check if there is a location in or near your zip code here.
