Volleyball Court Dimensions
Whether you are looking to set up an official volleyball court for matches or you just really want to get it set up just right for your backyard, you will want to get the right measurements. You can find official volleyball court dimensions below.
Volleyball Court Dimensions – 18 meters long by 9 meters wide or 59 feet long by 29.5 feet wide.
Volleyball Net Dimensions – 7 feet, 4 and 1/8 inches for girl’s/women’s competitions, and 7 feet, 11 and 5/8 inches for boy’s/men’s competitions.
Attack Line – 3 meters or 10 feet on each side of the net.
The attack line helps divide each side of the net into front rows and back rows. The division makes the front row 3 meters, or about 10 feet, long. The back row is 6 meters, or about 20 feet, long. The volleyball net is 1 meter thick all the way across.

Below you can see a volleyball court diagram. This helps to show what the layout of a volleyball court should look like for official competition. The horizontal center line is obviously where the net goes.
These dimensions are correct for United States High School and Olympic competitions, but if you are governed by a different body, you may want to check your official rulebook to make sure you have the right dimensions. There are many different types of junior leagues out there, and each may have their own measurements they require.
If you are playing at a local park, the dimensions could be pretty strange, but most will try to keep it similar to those listed above to make it pretty standard for wherever you play. Random dimensions can be frustrating, but for just casual play it usually isn’t a big deal.
These dimensions usually are a great size for home or park volleyball courts, also. Obviously, if you are setting up your own court for personal games or tournaments just for fun, you can set it up any way you want. Still, these dimensions make a good size for almost any type of competition.
